With profound gratitude to God and deep respect, Greater Community Church of God in Christ announces

the transition of our beloved Deacon Calvin “Cal” Darden.

 

On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Deacon Darden peacefully entered into eternal rest and was welcomed into the Church Triumphant. While our hearts grieve his passing, we rejoice in the assurance of his faith and the hope of the resurrection through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Deacon Darden’s life of faithful service, unwavering love, diligent labor, and extraordinary generosity leaves a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire our congregation and all who were blessed to know him. His impact will remain a cherished memorial in the life of our church and community.

We prayerfully ask that you join us in lifting Evangelist Gail Darden, their family, and all who loved him before the throne of grace. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, through the abiding presence and comfort of the Holy Spirit, grant them peace, strength, and sustaining grace during this season of bereavement. As a church family, we mourn together, we pray together, and we stand together in the hope that is ours in Christ.
